REVEALED: Who will contest the final vote in Kildare's All Time Greats

Vote for Kildare's All Time Great

The semi-final results are in, and we now know who will contest the final of our Kildare's All Time Greats vote.

Voting was fast and furious, and it was neck-and-neck in one of our polls, in particular.

In our first vote, however, Kilkea native and the legend of Antarctic exploration Sir Ernest Shackleton was the punters' firm favourite. He beat off Kildare's patron Saint Bridget by a margin of 85% of the votes to 15%, earning his place in this week's final.

It was neck and neck in our second poll, which saw three amazing people who have done wonders to better the lives of others nominated. Newbridge native and Cystic Fibrosis campaigner Orla Tinsley squeaked it by a very narrow margin of 2% against the combination of Jonathan Irwin and Mary Ann O'Brien, founders of the Jack & Jill Foundation, which provides services for young children.

Well done to the nominees and thanks to all who voted and to our sponsors.

The final poll in our Kildare's All Time Great vote is now LIVE, Monday - so don't miss your chance to have your say on who will be crowned Kildare's All Time Great... it's Orla Tinsley versus Ernest Shackleton - two legends in their own right!
