RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare man remembered as 'a lovely neighbour'

A Clane, Co Kildare man who passed recently has been fondly remembered as a “lovely friendly neighbour.”

James Carroll, Loughbollard, Clane, Kildare – formerly St Joseph's Road, Walkinstown Dublin 12 and Stepaside Cottages, Dublin 18 – passed peacefully on March 31 2026, in the tender care of Larchfield Park Nursing Home, Naas, surrounded by his loving family.

James is predeceased by his wife Marie. He is deeply regretted and sadly missed by his children Angela, Jessica, James and Elizabeth, sons-in-law, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, brothers, sisters, brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May James Rest In Peace.

James will be reposing at Oliver Reilly's Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane, (W91YPX4) on Tuesday (April 7) from 4pm - 8pm.

A Celebration of Life Service will take place in Oliver Reilly Funeral Home, Woods House, Clane, (W91YPX4) on Wednesday (April 8) at 11am, followed by cremation at Newlands Cross Crematorium at approx. 1pm.

Tributes paid to James on RIP.ie include: “Sincere sympathy to all of Shay's family, he was a lovely friendly neighbour in Loughbollard, may his gentle soul rest in peace.”

And: “Rest in peace, to one lovely Gentleman.”

While another mourner wrote: “A really lovely person and uncle. R.I.P. Uncle Shay.”

And another added: ”Sorry to see Shay has passed. A lovely friendly neighbour in Loughbollard. Condolences to his family and May he rest in peace.”
