Plans have been approved for a €955,000 residential development in Nurney, Co Kildare, involving the extension of an existing service station to accommodate new apartment units.

The project, located at The Village Green, Nurney, was granted permission following an application lodged last June.

The development will consist of a first-floor extension built over the existing service station, delivering a total of seven residential units.

These will include six one-bedroom apartments and one two-bedroom apartment.

In addition to the residential units, the scheme provides for associated open space, car parking, bicycle parking and bin storage facilities.

External access to the first floor will be facilitated via new stairs, alongside landscaping and all related site development works.

Retention permission has also been granted for alterations to a previously approved scheme including the exclusion of first-floor office units from the original design.

The total floor area of the development is 419.2 square metres on a site of approximately 0.2 hectares.

The application was submitted by John and Gillian Kinsella, with design work carried out by Daly Hudson Building Surveying & Architecture.
