Woman killed in lorry crash in Donegal as 2026 death toll on roads rises to 43

A woman in her 40s has died after being hit by a lorry in Co Donegal.

Gardai were called to the scene of a collision involving a pedestrian and a lorry at Station Roundabout in Letterkenny shortly after 3pm on Friday April 3.

The female pedestrian in her 40s was taken to Letterkenny University Hospital for treatment for serious injuries, but died on Sunday.

The woman’s death brings the total number of fatalities on Irish roads in 2026 to 43.
