The Curragh Racecourse will make Irish racing history this Easter as it becomes the first venue in the country to host a Good Friday race meeting, taking place on Friday, April 3, 2026.

According to the organisers, this landmark occasion promises a "vibrant, family-focused day out combining high-quality racing, Easter celebrations".

And in a gesture of celebration and inclusivity, this race day is completely free of charge, which has been made possible through the support of the Curragh On Course Bookmakers.

The historic card gets underway at 13.22 with the Irish Stallion Farms Juvenile Sprint Maiden, the first of a competitive afternoon programme featuring emerging stars of the flat season.

Designed as a fun-filled Easter outing, the day will feature a host of family-friendly attractions including Nore Valley Pet Farm, giving children the chance to meet and interact with adorable farmyard animals, along with Easter-themed games, treats, and activities.

Adding to the excitement, one lucky family in attendance will win a €2,500 Centre Parcs voucher, making this a Good Friday to remember.
