LATEST: Update to major Kildare housing development of over 460 homes. FILE PHOTOGRAPH / PIXABAY
An extension of duration has been proposed for a large-scale housing development in North Kildare.
Back in May, the Leinster Leader reported that Seattle Construction Limited sought to make changes to a previously permitted Strategic Housing Development (SHD permission ABP-307100) by way of a planning application for a Large-Scale Residential Development permission, on a site of circa 12.68 hectares located on lands at Kilwoghan Woods, in the Townland of Crodaun, Celbridge".
Then, last month, it was reported that the company sought permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) to make further changes to the development. The description of this application also noted that all of the project documents can be viewed at www.kilwoghandrivephase2lrd.ie).
And now, Seattle Construction Ltd is seeking permission from KCC to extend the duration of the previous application (the submission-by and due dates on this application were listed as October 2 last and October 23, 2025 respectively).
The latest application also summarises the nature of the development — it would consist of 467 residential units; 199 of which would be houses; 216 apartments; and 52 duplexes.

In addition, the applicant is seeking permission from KCC for the associated site works.
The date received on the new application is listed as October 9 last, while the new due date is listed as December 3, 2025.
There is no submission-by date listed on the latest application.
According to the business information website CRIF VisionNet / vision-net.ie, Seattle Construction Ltd was established in November of 1998.
It has a registered address listed as Ardee House, River Road, Blanchardstown, Dublin 15, County Dublin.
