RIP: Kildare woman killed in house fire. File photograph
A woman has been killed in a house fire which occurred in County Kildare over the weekend.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí and emergency services attended the scene of a fatal fire at a residential property in Nurney, County Kildare, on Saturday, October 11 last.
"A woman in her 50s, the sole occupant of the house, was pronounced deceased at the scene.
"Fire services extinguished the fire."
The spokesperson also said that the woman's body has since been removed from the scene to Naas Mortuary.
A post-mortem examination is due to be conducted.
The Leinster Leader understands that An Garda Síochána currently does not suspect foul play in relation to this incident.
