RIP: Kildare man fondly remembered as 'a very fine gentleman'

The late John Daly

A Clane, Co Kildare man who passed recently has been remembered as “a very fine gentleman” and “a pure gentleman and friend.”

John Daly, St Anne's, Blackhall, Clane, Co Kildare passed suddenly at home on February 20 2026.

John is the beloved son of the late Jim and Molly, deeply regretted by his loving wife Brenda, son Jamie, daughter Deirdre, their partners Georgina and Kevin, grandchildren Aaron, Aaliyah and Rhea, Brother Edward, sisters-in-law Olive and Betty, brother-in-law Jimmy, nieces, nephews, relatives and friends.

May John Rest In Peace.

John will be reposing at his residence on Thursday evening (February 26) between 4-8pm.

The removal will take place on Friday (February 27) morning by Oliver Reilly Funeral Directors at 10.30am to arrive at The Church of St. Patrick & St. Brigid, Clane for 11am funeral mass, followed by burial in Mainham Cemetery, Clane.

Tributes paid to John on RIP.ie include the following: “My sincere condolences to Brenda and all the family on the passing of John. It was an honour to have known such a very fine gentleman.
May John rest in peace.”

And: “To Brenda, Jamie, Deirdre and Edward I send my Sincere Condolences to you all on the untimely passing of John. May the Light of Heaven shine brightly on him as he is reunited with Jim and Molly. Rest in Peace John.”

While another mourner wrote: “To Brenda, Jamie and Deirdre I am so very sorry to hear of the passing of John. It was a pleasure to be in John's company, he was a gentleman and I am very grateful to have got to know him in the last few years. I am thinking of you at this sad time. Rest in peace John.”

And another added: “Our Deepest Sympathy to Brenda, Deirdre, Jamie and extended Family on the Sad and Untimely passing of John. We will always remember him as a pure Gentleman and Friend. He Will be Sadly Missed. May his Gentle Soul Rest in Peace.”
