RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare 'gentleman' who passed recently

Heartfelt tributes have been paid to a Kildare “gentleman” who passed this week.

Thomas O'Connor, Ballitore, Athy, Co Kildare died on February 9 2026, peacefully at Tallaght Hospital surrounded by his loving family.

Thomas is predeceased by his sister, Francis, deeply regretted by his loving parents Tommy and Dolores, his brother Declan his sister Claire sister-in-law Paula, brother-in-law John and Dolores partner Tom, his aunt May, nephews Jake, Calum, Harvey and Ruairi, his niece Ella, extended family, relatives, neighbours and his many friends.

"May Thomas Rest In Peace.”

Tommy will be reposing at Doyle's Funeral Home, Ballymount (eircode W91 RX37) on Thursday Feb 12 from 5pm until 8pm with prayers at 7.30pm, removal from there on Friday Feb 13 to the Church of Ss. Mary & Laurence, Crookstown Via Ballitore arriving for 11am funeral mass.

The funeral mass may be viewed on https://www.narraghmoreandmoone.ie/moone-webcam/ which will be followed by burial in the adjoining cemetery.

Tributes paid to Thomas on RIP.ie this week include: “Condolences to the O'Connor family on the sad passing of Thomas, have fond memories of growing up next door to Thomas. May his gentle soul rest in peace.”

And: “So sorry to hear about Thomas, he was lovely lad. Thinking of Dolores, Tommy, Declan, Claire and Tom and all the family. Rest in peace, Thomas.”

While another mourner wrote: “Our sincere condolences to Dolores, Tommy, Declan, Claire and the extended O'Connor Family on the sad passing of Thomas. He was such a gentleman and I would always stop for a chat when the sun was out, as it was a guarantee he would be catching the rays. May your gentle soul rest in the arms of the angels.”

And another added: “DEEPEST sympathy to all the O'Connor family on the sad passing of Thomas may he rest in peace.”
