RIP: Tributes paid to a 'gentleman with a kind heart' from Kildare

A Naas, Co Kildare man who passed recently has been fondly remembered as a 'gentleman with a kind heart.'

Denis McGovern passed peacefully on February 7 last, surrounded by his loving family at Naas General Hospital.

Denis is predeceased by his loving wife, Clare.

He is forever loved and sadly missed by his loving children Philip, Mary, Paul and Francis, grandchildren Simon, Mark, Andrew, Philip, Niamh, Martin, Niall, Amy, Louisa and Isabel, great-grandchildren Callum, Ben, Liam, Daniel, Aaron, Theodore and Alexander, daughters-in-law Antoinette, Gladys and Adele, niece Mary, nephew Damien, sister-in-law Maura, extended Family, neighbours and friends.

May his gentle soul rest in peace.

Tributes paid to Denis on RIP.ie include: “My deepest condolences to the McGovern family, especially Mary on the sad passing of your lovely dad. Denis was a gentleman with a kind heart, with a witty sense of humour. Denis was a very intelligent person. Now back home in heaven with his wife Claire and happy. RIP.”

And: “Sincere condolences to the McGovern Family on the passing of Denis, a kind gentleman and great neighbour to all on Kilcullen Rd. May his soul rest in eternal peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “So sorry to hear about the passing of Denis.....a gent and a warm personality around Naas AC for years....always great to meet....lovely chats.....thinking about whole family at this sad time.....”
