RIP: Kildare man who passed recently remembered as 'a true gentleman'

The late David Cahill

An Ardclough, Co Kildare man who passed last week has been fondly remembered as “a true gentleman.”

David Alexander Cameron Cahill (Ardclough, Straffan, Co. Kildare and formerly of Ballyragget, Co. Kilkenny) passed away peacefully on January 1 2026, surrounded by his loving family, in the wonderful care of the staff at Tallaght Hospital.

David will be sadly missed by his wife Susie, daughter Gay (Wilmot-Smith) and son Robert, son-in-law Andrew, grandchildren Patrick, Nicholas and Tom, extended family Inez, Caryl, Rachel, Sarah, Candy, Amaya and Alex, and friends.

Always in our hearts.

David was to be reposing at Cunningham’s Funeral Home, Celbridge on Sunday afternoon (January 4) between 4pm and 6pm.

The removal took place on Monday morning (January 5) to St. Anne’s Church, Ardclough arriving for a Funeral Mass at 12pm followed by a private cremation.
