RIP: Tributes paid to Kildare man remembered as 'a great guy gone too soon.'

A Co Kildare man who passed this week has been fondly remembered as 'a great guy gone too soon.'

Philip (Phil) Rigney – Kildare and formerly Westmeath – passed peacefully surrounded by his loving family in the kind care of the staff of The Maguire Ward, Tallaght University Hospital and previously in the wonderful care of Bloomfield Hospital, Rathfarnham.

Phil is the beloved dad of Leon and Elliot, adored son of Jeanette, cherished stepson of Adrienne and loving partner of Pauline.

Philip will be forever loved and very sadly missed by his loving sons and their mother Lizzie and her family, mother, stepmam, girlfriend, uncles and aunt Noel, Anthony, William, Robert and Shirley and their partners, cousins, extended family, neighbours and friends.

May Philip’s gentle soul rest in peace.

Philip will be reposing at his mother’s home on Saturday (January 3 2025) and Sunday (January 4 2025) from 12 noon to 9pm on both days.

A Celebration of Philip’s life will take place on Monday afternoon (January 5 2025) at 4pm in the Victorian Chapel, Mount Jerome Crematorium followed by Cremation.

Tributes paid to Philip this week on RIP.ie include: “Shocked and saddened to hear of Phil’s passing. We were at school together at primary Ard Mhuire and Terenure too, and used to get the bus home and share a few stories. Rest easy Phil, deepest condolences to your family and many friends.”

And: “So sorry to hear of Phillip's passing. A great guy gone too soon. Rest in peace.”

While another mourner wrote: “Rest easy my friend. Condolences to all that loved you.”

And another added: “Sincerest condolences to Jeanette and Ado and Phil's two beautiful boys, Leon and Elliot and all Phil's family and friends. Far too young, thinking of you all at this sad time.”
