The Narraghmore and Timolin Christmas Bazaar takes place this year on Saturday next December 1st in Timolin Hall at 2.30pm. There will be all the usual Christmas delights as well as a wonderful Hamper to be won.
SOUTH KILDARE ACTIVE RETIREMENT MEETING
The November meeting of South Kildare Active Retired will take place at Moone Hall on Thursday November 29th at the earlier time of 7.30 p.m. This is because Eddie Hennessey of the Kildare Sports Partnership will be demonstrating the Activity Games that will be starting there in preparation for the National ‘Go For Life’ Games.
This is a new initiative for over 55’s that want to join an active retirement association but want to take part in active but not too demanding exercise. The South Kildare branch has been chosen as the centre for the training in this area and teams will be entered in a Countywide Competition next year. One team will be chosen to represent the county in the All Ireland ‘Go For Life’ Games.
Over 55’s from anywhere in South Kildare who wish to see the demonstrations and perhaps participate later are welcome. Don’t be shy, you could win an All Ireland medal yet!
BOWLS IN MOONE
Bowls are held in Moone Hall every Tuesday from 3 to 5pm. They are part of the South Kildare Active Retired programme but you are welcome to call in and see what is going on any Tuesday. Kathleen Brown is in charge and will give you any information you need. Membership of South Kildare Active Retired is open to anyone in the area over 55, but we won’t ask for your birth certificate.
Active Retirement Christmas Lunch
The Eastern Region of Active Retirement Ireland are holding a Christmas Lunch in the Skylon Hotel, Dublin on 7th December at 1pm. A great afternoon of music, dancing, carol singing, Raffle, Santa etc and all for E25. All welcome and if enough interest a coach will take you there for an extra E10. St. COlMCILLE’S NS MOONE
The boys basketball team defeated Kildangan NS while the girls played courageously in their defeat to the same opposition in the ‘small schools’ basketball league.
A parent in the school is collecting sleeping bags for the homeless. If anyone has any old or spare sleeping bags to donate, it would be appreciated if they could be left into the school during this week.
The senior children in the school marked ‘Science Week’ by visiting various Science Demonstrations in Colaiste Lorcain - Castledermot, Scoil Chonglais – Balltinglass and the Library in Athy. The children had the opportunity to have hands on approach to experiments during the week.
TIMOLIN NS OPEN EVENING
The school is organising an Open Evening for parents/guardians who may be considering enroling a child next year, tonight Tuesday November 27th from 7 to 9pm.

RATHVILLY GARDEN AND FLOWER CLUB
The Rathvilly Garden and Flower Club will meet tomorrow Wednesday 28th November at 8pm in St. Patrick’s Sports and Community Centre, Rathvilly. This will be our Christmas night with Diane Gallagher an AOIFA Demonstrator and Teacher. Diane will demonstrate Arrangements for the Christmas season, all of which will be raffled on the night. Mulled Wine and mince pies will be served. All are very welcome to what promises to be a great night. Admission E5
