**Lights, Camera, Action: Newbridge RFC Hosts Spectacular Film Awards Fundraiser**
Newbridge Rugby Football Club in Kildare rolled out the red carpet on Saturday, 11th April 2026, as more than 650 guests gathered at the Keadeen Hotel for a dazzling Film Awards themed fundraiser. The sold out “OsKaRs Night” marked the culmination of months of creativity, teamwork, and community spirit, showcasing the extraordinary talents within the club both on and off the pitch.

Throughout February and March, over 90 club members and volunteers swapped jerseys for scripts, coming together to rehearse and film seven iconic movies in the surrounding Newbridge area. With the support of Kevin Rowe Events, participants were coached and mentored through the filmmaking process, producing a series of professional quality films that brought laughter, drama, and plenty of local pride to the big screen.

Guests embraced the Hollywood theme in enjoying an evening of entertainment that celebrated the talents of the club both on and off the pitch. From standout performances to behind the scenes dedication, the event highlighted the strength of the Newbridge RFC community.

The fundraiser proved a major success, raising a remarkable total of €120,000 for the Newbridge RFC Club Development Plan. These funds will support key projects, including the completion of a new gym, along with significant upgrades to the club’s car park and pitch lighting. These developments are central to improving facilities for the 550 plus male and female members, from under 6 minis, youths and senior players.

Newbridge Rugby Club would like to extend sincere thanks to the local business community for their incredible support, with over 122 sponsors contributing to the event’s success. Special appreciation is given to main event sponsors Irish Commercials, Schlotter, and Structure Tone.

Speaking on the success of the event, organisers praised the commitment and enthusiasm of everyone involved. “This fundraiser truly showcased what makes Newbridge RFC special,” one committee member noted. “It’s not just about rugby, it’s about community, teamwork, and creating something we can all be proud of.”

The Film Awards Fundraiser stands as a testament to the club’s vibrant spirit and ambition, proving that when a community comes together, even the biggest productions can be brought to life, close to home.

As the curtain falls on this year’s Film Awards Night, Newbridge RFC looks ahead with renewed energy, continuing to build a club and a community that grows both on and off the field.
