A number of fashionable ladies and gentlemen recently turned out in style to support Barretstown.

The charity, which was founded by actor Paul Newman in 1994, provides therapeutic camps and programmes for children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses.

The charity’s highly anticipated Summer Luncheon proudly sponsored by Eversheds Sutherland, Roku Gin, Kildare Village, The K Club and The Curragh took place in The K Club’s Legacy Suite, where CEO Dee Ahearn warmly welcomed guests.

The afternoon, hosted by television presenter Marietta Doran, began with a Roku Gin reception in the stunning surroundings of The K Club. Guests then enjoyed a three-course lunch, complemented by wines sponsored by Irish Distillers.

The event continued with a Racing Style presentation, led by style expert Jess Colivet in collaboration with Kildare Village, offering inspiration on the latest fashion trends for the summer season. A lively raffle and auction also took place.

An intriguing panel discussion then took place where horse trainer Lorna Fowler of Rahinston Farm and Stud in County Meath caught up with renowned Irish horse trainer Ross O’Sullivan, owner and breeder Tamso Doyle Cox from Baroda Stud, and AnneMarie O'Brien CEO at Equimetrics.

The panel shared fascinating tales about their lives and careers along with thoughts on the 2025 summer racing calendar.

The Dream Divas also entertained guests during lunch.

The afternoon was organised by a dedicated ladies' committee, including Tara O’Connor, Mary Dooley, Dee Ahearn, Rachel Queally, Aurelija Fetherson, and Crona Byrne.

It managed to raise €120,000 in order to help Barretstown continue to support children affected by cancer and other serious illnesses in 2025 and beyond.

Guests on the day included Jessica Harrington, Keith Barry, Lisa McGowan, Crona Byrne to name but a few.
