Kildare advanced to the quarter-final of teh Tailteann Cup following a four point win over Sligo at Roscommon this afternoon.
In a game dominated by the wind it was Kildare, with three first half goals, led at the breakk 3-11 to 1-7.
And while it took a while for Sligo to eat into the lead when the hand wind, they eventually did cutting the lead to three points. However Kildare kicked on and retained possession in the dying minutes holding out to win on a final score line of Kildare 4-19 Sligo 1-24.
