Johnny Doyle bids farewell as he announces his retirement after a stellar career.

Two names have emerged, so far, as contenders for the upcoming vacancy for chairman of Kildare GAA Co. Board.

Round 3 of the senior, intermediate and junior football championships were completed with wins in senior for Naas, Carbury, Celbridge, Athy, Eadestown, Kilcock and Moorefield with Raheens and Johnstownbridge drawing.

In the intermediate there were wins for Leixlip, Sallins, Monasterevan, Milltown, Suncroft, Cargh and Round towers with St Kevin's and Ballyteague drawing.

The junior championship also completed the group phases and we carry full reports and picture coverage of all 21 games, in a bumper edition.

In the KDFL it was Lumsden Cup final Sunday and after extra-time and a penalty shoot-out it was Clonmullion who  lifted the famous trophy, full report and picture coverage along with KDFL round-up, fixtures, results and up-to-date tables.

Community Games: success of Kildare competitors at various culture finals.
