Elderly man was kissed, offered sex and his clothes removed after women enter his home

Money was stolen
An elderly man living alone had his clothes removed and was offered sex after two women entered his home and took money, it was claimed at Naas District Court.
Before the court was Florentina Baeram, 30, whose address was given as no fixed abode, Newbridge. She faces allegations of robbery at an address in Newbridge on March 28 and theft in Naas a day later.
She was in custody and appeared via video link and the proceedings were translated for her by an interpreter.
She is being prosecuted for entering an address at Naas on March 29 with another woman. It was alleged by Sgt Dave Harahan that one of them started to kiss him, offered sex and took him into a bedroom where his clothes were taken off by one woman before €110 was stolen by the other. The court heard he thought they were social workers.
He also claimed that evidence found at the scene belongs to the defendant.
Sgt Hanrahan said on March 28 a man aged in his 80s was accosted by the defendant in Newbridge after being approached by two females. He was assaulted, knocked to the ground and money (€450) taken from him. The man was using a walking frame.
The sergeant said he was targeted after collecting the pension at the post office.
The court heard that a number of days later a member of the public contacted the gardaí to report that two women were approaching elderly men on the main street.
The court also heard that the defendant admitted to being in a house and the other woman has yet to be identified.
Sgt Hanrahan said the case was being dealt with with the utmost urgency but he did not have immediate directions on how to proceed from the Director of Public Prosecutions.
He said further charges may be preferred.
Judge Desmond Zaidan remanded the defendant in custody and told her if she gets bail in the High Court she must turn up at the adjourned sitting in person.
The matter was adjourned to May 8.
