A woman told Naas District Court that her former husband tried to take their child from school.
The woman was applying for a protection order and told the court that they were married for 12 years before separating.
She also alleged that the man, who was present and was not represented, turns up in places where she does and added “I don’t know if has access to my phone.”
The court also heard that he has access to their children but this is subject to the wishes of the children.
She said that in late September she was banging on the door of the residents and after he allegedly tried to take the child form school the child doesn't want to go to school.
She said she is terrified and she was urged by the gardaí to seek a protection order.
The woman also said he had left her for a man. She said she does not think he is well and he is unpredictable. She said divorce proceedings have started and she is willing for him to make contact via email regarding the children.
The court granted a protection order and he told the women this means he cannot go to her home. He also said the man could make contact via email.
The case was adjourned.
