A man has made a court appearance in connection with an alleged €2m cocaine find on the Kildare/Meath border.
Slawomir Wojtyniak, 43, whose address was given as 7 The Oaks, Lakepoint, Mullingar is prosecuted for having drugs for sale or supply on July 15 at Ballynamullagh, Carbury.
He faces an additional allegation of possessing drugs on that occasion with a value of €13,000 or more.
A Naas District Court heard that €2m worth of drugs was transported to that address and was transferred to another vehicle.
Judge Desmond Zaidan was told that the drugs came from outside the jurisdiction.
Evidence of arresting Slawomir Wojtyniak was previously given by Det Gda O’Neill and the court was told at that time that the defendant made no reply when charged.
David Powderly, solicitor for Mr Wojtyniak said there was consent for bail in the form of a cash lodgement of €4,000 and a surety of €2,000.
He said the defendant would undertake to comply with bail conditions, including that he sign on at Mullingar garda station three days a week.
The defendant remains on bail subject to conditions and he has been remanded to appear again on April 17 for the preparation of a book of evidence.
