Fire service raised concern over Roost pub

The Kildare Fire Services have expressed concerns over the popular Roost pub in Maynooth.

At the 17 September sitting of Kilcock District Court, Judge Desmond Zaidan was told, in the course of a licencing application, that management of Laraville Properties Ltd, trading as the Roost, were unaware of how many people were on the premises at any one time.

The Roost is a popular pub with students at the nearby university and is a large premises.

The Court was told that it has a capacity for 1,100 under the fire regulations, but management could not tell the Fire Services how many people were on it at any one time and the Fire Services was concerned.

The application has been adjourned until 3 December.
