Kildare take away food shops should have an ID number for fast food packaging

Concern over litter problems caused by food containers

Irish people would back ban on unhealthy food ads to help address increasing rates obesity

Fast food premises and take away outlets in Kildare sold have an identity number.

This needs to be done to tackle problems created by unsightly litter.

That's according to independent councillor Tom McDonnell.

He wants Kildare County Council to ensures that fast food and take away outlets in Kildare "have a registered identity number on all take away bags".

He said this should be done to help prevent littering.
