Kildare gardaí investigating robbery which occurred on well-known street in Newbridge

Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) based in County Kildare are investigating a robbery which occurred on a well-known street in Newbridge.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí are investigating an incident of robbery which occurred on Monday, December 8 last at approximately 2.50pm on the Cutlery Road in Newbridge, County Kildare."

"A man aged in his 20s was treated for injuries believed to be non-life-threatening as a result of this incident."

The spokesperson added that investigations are ongoing.

DESCRIPTION OF SUSPECTS

A description of two male suspects believed to have been involved in this incident was read out by a member of AGS who made a guest appearance on KFM earlier this morning (December 10).

Garda Marc Connolly said that while both males had their faces they covered, they had "White skin", and added that one was 6 feet in height, while the other male was around 5 feet 10 inches in height.

He added that both men were dressed in dark-coloured clothing and had "local accents".

Gda Connolly concluded by urging anyone with information and / or footage relating to this crime to contact Newbridge Garda Station on 045 440 180.
