A woman has been arrested and detained at a County Kildare garda station in relation to a garda investigation concerning suspected organised retail theft.

A garda spokesperson explaiend: "As part of Operation Táirge, gardaí attached to the Eastern Region investigating organized retail theft have arrested a woman (aged in her 40s) in Dublin Airport, today, Wednesday, December 10, 2025.

"The woman was arrested in relation to multiple incidents of alleged thefts as she returned to Ireland."

The spokesperson also said that the woman is being detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in Kildare.

"Investigations are ongoing," the spokesperson concluded.
