Kildare teenager who performed at Electric Picnic launches debut single

A County Kildare teenager who previously performed at Electric Picnic (EP) has launched his debut single.

Monasterevin native Cillian Brennan is a 16-year-old singer and songwriter who has performed at EP in both 2024 and 2025. He also participated in Today FM’s Big Busk for the Charity Focus Ireland.

And now, Cillian is experiencing further success  — in 2025, he won a busking competition with 'Buskaphonic' in County Wexford and the prize was a recording of a song by music producer Brendan Carthy in Orchard Studios in Enniscorthy.

According to Cillian, this opportunity inspired Cillian, who usually plays indie and pop music, to compose his own song. 

Written and performed entirely by Cillian, 'Me, You and Life' explores the ups and downs of relationships, personal growth, and the journey of finding one’s place in the world.

Elaborating further on his debut single, Cillian said: "Music has always been my way of making sense of the world around me.

"With 'Me, You and Life', I wanted to express the challenges and joys that come with growing up and building relationships."

He added: "I hope listeners can find a piece of their own story in this song."

'Me, You and Life' by Cillian Brennan is now available on all major streaming platforms, including Spotify, Apple Music and YouTube.
