Kildare senator pays tribute to St Stan

'She left an indelible mark on Ireland'

Focus Ireland founder Sr Stan shares the importance of the charity’s Limerick services

Kildare senator Aubrey McCarthy has expressed deep sorrow at the passing of Sister Stanislaus Kennedy, widely known as Sr Stan, a tireless advocate for the homeless and vulnerable in Irish society. 

“Sr Stan was a beacon of compassion and courage,” Senator McCarthy said.

“Her lifelong dedication to justice, equality, and care for the most marginalised has left an indelible mark on Ireland. Organisations like Tiglin owe a great deal to her vision and pioneering spirit.” 

Sr Stan passed away peacefully at St Francis Hospice, Blanchardstown, aged 86. Her legacy will continue to shape Ireland’s social conscience for generations to come.
