Man who was barred from family home turned up there intoxicated, Kildare court told

A man barred from the family home turned up there intoxicated and had an argument, Naas District Court was told.

The man was before the court for breaching an order at an address in County Kildare.

The court heard that the man's father, aged in his 70s, reported the matter to gardaí after the man came to the home on September 1.

Garda Rod Guinan told the court that despite the order, the defendant had been living at the address “by invitation.”

Gda Guinan added that the father misunderstood the meaning of a barring order.

He also said the incident arose when the man came to the dwelling intoxicated and had an argument.

By the time the gardaí arrived, the defendant was in bed and the incident had calmed down.

Solicitor Chloe Donegan said the defendant was invited to the premises and he thought the barring order had been lifted.

Judge Desmond Zaidan adjourned the case to February 4.
