Ex-Kildare GAA player is head of European lawyers group

Liam Moloney, managing partner of Naas-based Moloney & Co Solicitors, has been elected as the new President of the Pan European Organisation of Personal Injury Lawyers (PEOPIL). He is the first Irish lawyer to hold the position.

PEOPIL is one of the largest personal injury lawyers groups in Europe with over 500 members from within and outside Europe. It promotes greater access to justice for injury victims and enhances judicial co-operation in all European jurisdictions in the field of personal injury law.

Mr Moloney’s firm specialises in personal injury, travel-related injury claims, product liability, and medical negligence claims.

He said “I am honoured to have been elected. Regretfully, access to justice in many European countries, including Ireland, continues to be eroded for personal injury victims through unjust reforms. PEOPIL, through its many initiatives, continues to promote the delivery of fair and just compensation for all personal injury victims”

Mr Moloney is the principal of Moloney Solicitors has been practising in this field Personal Injury Law for over two decades, specialising in personal Injury and medical negligence claims. His firm also handles accident claims for Irish citizens injured abroad.

He was previously PEOPIL’s vice president and is a past chair of the international practice section of the American Personal Injury Trial Lawyers Association (AAJ) and is  on its board of governors. He is also currently the honorary consul for Slovenia. He won two senior hurling titles with Naas and played for many years with the Kildare senior team.
