Video footage captured by the Irish Examiner shows a Kildare-based Minister being confronted by an unidentified Palestine supporter at the most recent National Ploughing Championships.
The Minister for Agriculture, Food and the Marine, Fianna Fáil TD Martin Heydon, was among a number of politicians attending the latest iteration of the National Ploughing Championships, which concluded yesterday (September 18 last).
At the event (on Wednesday, September 17 last), he was seen being followed by a man who questioned him on the government's response to the crisis in Gaza, an area which the UN Commission recently ruled is currently being affected by a genocide committed by Israeli government.
The man, who can be seen in the video wearing a white t-shirt with Minister Heydon's face on it and the phrase "Vote Heydon, vote genocide" on it, accused the Minister and the wider government of "doing f**king nothing" to tackle the genocide in Gaza.
He also accused Minister Heydon of "supporting the genocide" in Gaza and repeatedly asked the Minister: "When did you vote for the war bonds [for Israel]?"
Minister Heydon did not respond to the man's questions and comments.
As noted by The Irish Times in an article published last week, Israel uses bonds, which were formerly approved by Ireland, to partly fund its military operations in the Gaza Strip.
The full video showing the confrontation can be viewed below.
Minister Heydon has been contacted by the Leinster Leader for comment regarding the video.
