An incident which saw a burglary and car theft occurring in a County Kildare estate has prompted a garda investigation.

Details of the incident were highlighted on KFM yesterday (September 10 last) by Detective Garda Shona Nolan, who appeared as a guest on one of the radio station's programmes.

She explained that the incident occurred between the evening of Thursday, September 4 last and the morning of Friday, September 5 last.

According to Det Gda Nolan, the crimes took place at a property located in the Beech Wood Park region of Leixlip.

As for the vehicle which was stolen by the perpetrator(s), Det Gda Nolan said that it was a grey KIA Sportage car with a partial '231-D' registration plate.

She concluded by urging anyone with information about these two crimes to contact Leixlip Garda Station on 01 666 7800.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of an alleged burglary in Leixlip Co.Kildare on that occurred between the hours of 11.30pm on the September 4, 2025 to 8.12am on the September 5, 2025."

The spokesperson added that the investigation remains ongoing.
