Girl appears in court over alleged Kildare school assault

A girl has appeared in court over an alleged assault at a school in County Kildare.

The girl, aged under 18, was accompanied by an adult when she came before Naas District Court. She cannot be identified because of her age.

Sgt Mary Meade said it will be alleged that the injured party was punched to the left side of the face.

The incident took place in the school grounds on September 18, 2024. 

The court further heard that the injured party did not attend a doctor or a hospital.

There were no pictures of the injury available to the court and the defendant sustained “redness to the face”.

Judge Miriam Walsh adjourned the case to September 2.
