A man aged in his 40s has been arrested in connection with a knifepoint robbery at a North Kildare shop.
In addition, a Kildare-based garda has said that the robbery may be linked to a second robbery in North Kildare.
The two robberies were detailed by Garda Mark Connolly, who discussed the incidents when he appeared on a radio programme by KFM yesterday morning (August 13 last).
He told host Eoin Beatty that the first incident took place on the evening of Friday, August 8 last at McCabe's Gala stop located in Kilmeague.
Gda Connolly said that two males, armed with knives, held the shop staff up at two separate tills and later fled from the scene with a sum of cash and a number of stolen scratch cards.
"They fled in the direction of Clane and Prosperous," he added.
