Gardaí based in County Kildare have launched an appeal an incident where a motorbike was stolen in South Kildare.

The incident was highlighted on a radio programme by KFM yesterday (August 13 last) by Garda Mark Connolly.

He explained that the crime took place in the early hours of Saturday, August 9 last at a property located in the Dún Brinn region of Athy.

Gda Connolly added that two males dressed in dark clothing and balaclavas were spotted stealing the motorbike, which is a Yamaha MT07 model.

He also said that this particular model has some specific features: "[It has] a black carbon fibre frame, reflective letters under the pillion seat, brown paint on the exhaust, and there is a blue mobile phone holder on the left handle bar."

Gda Connolly further said that the registration plate of the vehicle starts with '14-CE'.

He concluded by calling on anyone with information about this crime to contact Athy Garda Station on 059 863 4210.

When asked by the Leinster Leader about this incident, a garda spokesperson responded: "Gardaí received a report of the theft of a motorcycle that occurred at a residence in the Dunn Brinn [sic] area of Athy, County Kildare at approximately 2.40am on August 9, 2025."

"Investigations are ongoing," they added.
