Kildare Steiner Secondary School has revealed in an official statement that it is at a "criticial juncture" as it is facing closure.
Rooted in Steiner / Waldorf teachings, the school, which was set up in 2019 and is located in Dunlavin, offers an "individualised approach and a balance of experiential and classroom learning, students are given space to thrive, build strong relationships, and engage meaningfully with their learning".
However, today (June 6), the Kildare Steiner Secondary School told the Leinster Leader that it needs a small number of new enrolments in order to continue offering its services.
Speaking about its current situation, the school explained that it faces closure at the end of the 2024 / 2025 academic year, and needs new students to "join its community in order to continue its mission, guaranteeing a future for children and teenagers in need of its unique educational approach".
However, the Kildare Steiner Secondary School said that its leaders are optimistic that new families will come forward — a school spokesperson said: "With just a few more enrolments, we can keep our doors open and continue offering this life-changing education."
The spokesperson added: "We’ve seen incredible growth in our students, and we don’t want this journey to end."
Anyone who wishes to enrol students at Kildare Steiner Secondary School is asked to visit the school's official website or send an email to info@kildaresteinerschool.ie.
