A bicycle was stolen from the grounds of a school located in North Kildare.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about the incident, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí are also investigating an incident of theft that occurred on May 7, 2025 on the grounds of a premises in Maynooth, County Kildare.
"A bicycle was taken in the course of this incident."
The spokesperson added that "investigations are ongoing" at present.
Further details about the crime were also revealed by Garda David Prendergast of Naas Garda Station when he appeared on a KFM radio programme on Wednesday, May 14 last.
He explained that the incident took place at Maynooth Community College and that the stolen bicycle was a Black Trek pedal cycle.
In addition, Gda Prendergast noted that the lock that was on the stolen bicycle was broken and found on the ground nearby.
He concluded by urging anyone with information about this crime to contact Maynooth Garda Station on 01 629 2380.
