Members of An Garda Síochána (AGS) in County Kildare are investigating a criminal damage by fire incident which occurred on the Leixlip Road.
Garda Brian Carroll of Newbridge Garda Station discussed details of the crime when he appeared on KFM yesterday morning (April 30 last).
He explained that the incident took place in the Donaghcumper area of Celbridge (which is located on the Leixlip Road) on April 24 last.
Gda Carroll added that a toilet roll bollard and a welfare unit were set alight by the perpetrator, resulting in around €3,400 euro worth of damages.
He concluded by urging anyone with information to contact Celbridge Garda Station on 01 628 8222.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this specific crime, a spokesperson for AGS responded: "Gardaí received a report of an incident of criminal damage by fire on the morning of Thursday, April 24, 2025 in the Donaghcumper area Celbridge, County Kildare.
"No injuries were reported."
They concluded: "Investigations are ongoing."
