RIP Marie Delahunt
Heartfelt messages have poured in on RIP.ie for Kildare woman Marie Delahunt who has recently died.
Marie was from Castlewarden, Straffan in Kildare and formerly Ardclough in Kildare and died on March 31st 2025.
She was the beloved wife and best friend of Brendan, and died surrounded by her loving family in the gentle care of the doctors and nurses of Naas General Hospital.
Sadly missed by her loving husband Brendan, daughter Siobhan, son Padraig, son-in-law Christy, her adored grandchildren Jamie, Barry, Jack and Aoife, her brothers Johnny and Tomsie, sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law, nieces, nephew, relatives, neighbours and a large circle of friends.
A special thanks was expressed to all those of who provided a friendship with care from Manor Home Care at Kill Medical Centre and Kill Pharmacy.
Heartfelt messages have been left on RIP.ie, from those who knew and fondly remembered Marie, with one mourner writing,
"Deepest sympathies to you all, Brendan who’s lost his best friend, when you saw one the other wasn’t far behind and Siobhain and Padraig on the loss of your lovely mammy. Jamie, Barry, Jack and Aoife who she doted on and was so proud of. Marie loved a laugh and the chat. I’ll have a nice large pink gin in her honour. Rest in peace Marie."
"My deepest condolences Brendan Siobhan Padraig and all of Marie's extended family at this sad time. Marie was a lovely lady who always enjoyed a chat and a laugh. May the treasured memories you hold of her help you all through this difficult time.
May her gentle soul rest in heavenly peace," another mourner said.

Another message said, "Sincere condolences to Brendan and Siobhan and extended Delahunt and Buggle families on the sad passing of Marie .She was a lovely kind lady and she would always emjoy a little chat when she did her shopping . Rest in peace Marie."
"Sincere condolences to Brendan and family also the Buggle family at the sad passing of Marie. She was such a lovely woman. My Mam Nora and Marie were great friends growing up. They could talk till daybreak. May she rest in peace xx," another tribute said.
FUNERAL ARRANGEMENTS:
Marie will be reposing at Sallins Funeral Home, Chamney Court, W91DXC8 on Friday 4th April from 4pm with prayers at 7pm. Removal on Saturday 5th April to St. Brigid's Church, Kill, for Requiem Mass at 11am, followed by burial in Straffan Ceme
