A rock band jointly-fronted by a Kildare woman will be taking part in a fundraiser for Women's Aid, the charity which assists women suffering from domestic violence and abuse.

Orchid Feeder, which is led by dual vocalists Naas resident Jodie ''Jo'' Mac Chéile / McHale and Nancy Kate Murphy, is a self-described ''Dublin Riot Grrrl'' act that is also influenced by the nu-metal and alt-rock music genres. Jo is also the lead singer of a separate punk-rock band called Blokor.

The band, which also features Aaron Kennedy and Steven Brien on guitars, Nathan Flanagan on drums and Michael Hogan on bass, will take part in the next Altcoustic Showcase in Sin é, which is located on Ormond Quay in County Dublin.

Orchid Feeder will be joined on the night by the alt-rock and grunge band Aryel Moon and singer-songwriter Saul Knight

All proceeds on the night will go towards Women's Aid, according to the organisers.

Doors for the show will open at 7.30pm on Tuesday, March 25.

Tickets will cost €8.
