Kildare school is fundraising for new class for children with autism
Gaelscoil Chill Dara in Newbridge, Co Kildare is fundraising for a new class for children with autism.
In September 2025, Gaelscoil Chill Dara was delighted to open Rang Zoé, a class for autistic children who are at the heart of all we do in GSCD.
A school spokesperson said: "Even though we have a lovely classroom we still require money to pay for the extended sensory room, individualised technology for each child, a sensory friendly outdoor teaching, learning and play area amongst other much needed resources. Please support us to support all of the children in GSCD.
From 18th March to 18th April 2025 Pobal na Gaelscoil will be (virtually) walking, jogging and running the 509 km from Daingean Uí Cúis to Eragail, Gaoth Dobhair.

"This virtual fundraising event welcomes all members of the Gaelscoil community and friends and family.
"It is being organised by the wonderful children of Rang Zoé to raise money for their class, providing a sensory room, technology and outside space in the garden.
"Support the GSCD páistí by sponsoring them and we welcome you to help us cover km and create your own fundraising page on idonate if you like!
"In addition to this virtual fundraising event - From Gaeltacht to Gaeltacht, there will be a Concert during school time on the 9th April, Boxercise with Setanta,the Rang Zoé Crannchur/Raffle on the 9th May and lots more, all of these events will be to fundraise specifically for Rang Zoé.
