Suncroft GAA team captured the Michael Osborne Memorial Trophy at the annual Club Kildare Golf Classic held at The Curragh last week, writes TOMMY CALLAGHAN.
The popular event was well supported by over 30 clubs and scoring, as usual, was very good despite the windy conditions.
Suncroft, led by Val Dillon snr and aided by Denis King, Mick Stynes and Val Dillon jnr won the trophy with a great score of 101 points. Local knowledge was said to have been of help!
In second place was the St Kevin’s team, captained by Trevor Carew and included Frank Kilcoyne, Robert Beirne and Conor Murray with a score of 91 points.
Moorefield took the third spot on a 90 points and were represented by Mick and Mark Anderson, Paul Dempsey and John Hamilton.
Nearest the pins were won by Mark Anderson of Moorefield and John Gilfoyle of Allenwood.
