A teenage boy has been accused of attempting to break into a County Kildare school's bike shed with the aid of another person.

The boy appeared before Judge Desmond Zaidan at Naas District Court on Thursday, October 26 last.

He was accompanied to the in-camera (in private) court session by his mother.

When he first approached the bench, Judge Zaidan ordered him to take his hands out of his pockets, and the boy subsequently apologised for this.

Gardaí told the court that the boy, along with another youth, attempted to break into the bike shed.

Details about the other youth were not specified during this court session.

Shortly afterwards, the defendant was stopped while at the scene by gardaí, and when he was asked what he was doing, he replied that he was simply 'hanging around.'

It was also heard that he eventually handed over a pair of vicegrips to gardaí.

Judge Zaidn adjourned the case to a date in December for hearing.
