An Garda Síochana has said that it is currently not treating the death of man in his 40s in Newbridge as suspicious.
However, gardaí stressed that investigations are ongoing.
The discovery of the man's body was made after a woman in her 30s presented herself to Newbridge Garda Station in the early hours of Wednesday morning, following an alleged assault.
Gardaí said that the man's body was found at the same location as the alleged assault.
She was taken to Naas General Hospital, where her injuries were not thought to be life-threatening.
