A man was fined in Naas District Court on Thursday, November 24, for assaulting a garda on the Main Street of Newbridge.

The offence was committed by Patryk Pyk, with an address listed at Sunday’s Well in Naas, on February 2, 2021.

It was heard that the 25-year-old had been engaged in an argument with the garda, and later became so angry that he punched the garda.

Explaining why Mr Pyk was absent from court on the date in question, a garda told Judge Desmond Zaidan that he is now in custody in his native country of Poland.

Judge Zaidan imposed a €1,000 fine on Mr Pyk.
