Kildare town's Declan Crowe is standing in the upcoming local elections in the Kildare Municipal District.
"Having looked around at what the parties are offering to the people I have decided to stay as an Independent and put the people first and not any party loyalty. This country is in turmoil and I hope the people will not reward any of the parties with their vote as the are all responsible to some degree for the mess we are all in," he said.
"This election is more than about local issues, it is about whether we here in county Kildare want our county council dominated by political parties and party politics. It is about whether people of Kildare want to reward the parties for their failures.
What we need is a county council of consensus where all views are heard and all stake holders are represented , as it was intended rule by the people for the people not by parties. Find me on Facebook and Youtube."
