Newbridge Library has a host of free events lined up over the coming weeks.
A First Aid For Parents talk will be held on Wednesday, March 21, at 10.30am. This informative and interactive course will use lots of visual aids in the presentation and there is plenty of opportunity for the participants to ask questions.
Topics will include: calling the emergency services, the first aid kit, choking, meningitus, temperatures, seizures and burns.
A Healthy Ireland Talk by dietician Gemma Randles is pencilled in for Tuesday 27 at 7pm. The qualified dietician from University College Dublin is giving this free talk, which will cover topics such as simplifying healthy eating, talking sense about nutrition myths and nutrition focused on all ages.
World Earth Hour 2018 is also being marked in Newbridge Library through the display of Climate Change Earth Hour Ribbons. All members of the public are invited to make their pledge for climate change to the installation in Newbridge Library up to Earth Hour on Saturday 24 March.
Next month, there will be a talk on Helping Your Child Build Resilience and Skills To Cope With Life's Challenges. It takes place on Tuesday April 3 at 7pm.
This talk explores the support and experiences our children need to develop resilience or mental strength. It will help parents develop their children’s ability to thrive despite life’s challenges e.g. growing up, bullying or living with difficult circumstances; and to bounce back from adversity.
