As rain continued to fall throughout this morning, social media has featured reports, updates, pictures and videos of the muct of the worst of the flooding.
Smaller roads tend to be the worst affected although we’re now learning that the two main arteries through the county, the M4 and M7 motorways are badly affected.
Kilcock man John Ryan was driving westbound from the Maynooth exit earlier today when he came across this scene. He says the dual carriageway was down to one lane from 400 metres.
