A man has been arrested and charged in connection to the robbery of shop in County Kildare, during which he produced a replica handgun.
The incident was highlighted by Garda Marc Connolly when he appeared as a guest on a programme which aired on KFM earlier today (December 10).
He told host Hannah Kelly that on the evening of Friday, December 5 last, a man walked into the Centra shop located in the Hazelmere region of Naas and held up the staff with what appeared to be a handgun.
The man subsequently proceeded to steal cash from the shop and later fled the scene.
Following this crime, the man was eventually found and arrested by gardaí.

In addition, according to Gda Connolly, it was later discovered that the man had used a replica handgun during the course of the robbery.
He also said that while the man had been arrested, gardaí in Naas are still appealing for witnesses to the crime.
Gda Connolly concluded by urging anyone with information and / or footage relating to the incident to contact Naas Garda Station on 045 884 300.
When asked by the Leinster Leader about this crime, a garda spokesperson replied: "Gardaí attended an incident of robbery which occurred on Friday, December 5 last at approximately 7.45pm at a retail premises in Naas, County Kildare."
"A male, aged in his 30s was arrested in connection with this incident and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act, 1984."
The spokesperson also said that the man has since been charged by gardaí and appeared before a sitting of Naas District Court on December 8 last.
