A family resource centre located in County Kildare has issued a heartwarming update ahead of its August holiday break.

Taking to social media to make the announcement, Newbridge Family Resource Centre (NFRC) said: "We just wanted to give one last shout out to a few things that's happened this year before we close up for two weeks over our summer holidays.

"Our garden has practically evolved this year, with the unbelievable amount of vegetables we have growing in our brand new greenhouse, on top of all the new plants scattered around our sensory garden! We've had so many people coming to volunteer and be apart of this growth that it warms our hearts."

NFRC also said: "We've already had unbelievable usage from our childcare's brand new sensory room. After our little opening ceremony earlier this year, we've had our kids in there daily and they always ask if they can head back and hang out there tomorrow!

"Lastly, we just want to thank you all for the unbelievable support you've all given us; without it, our community garden wouldn't be able to flourish in the way that it is now and we wouldn't be able to provide the children under our care, these unique growing experiences.

"We will be closing from 1pm today [August 1], and will be back from 9am on August 18 [2025]."

NFRC concluded: "Stay tuned for updates on when our groups will be returning in September!"

Back in June, NFRC notably made headlines when it applied for planning permission from Kildare County Council (KCC) for a new community space.
