A pub located in County Kildare was recently targeted by burglars.

The crime was highlighted on KFM yesterday (July 9 last) by Garda Mo Nerney, who appeared on the radio station as a guest during one of its programmes.

Gda Nurney explained that in the early hours of Thursday, July 3 last, four men, who were "covered up" by items of clothing, parked beside The Abbey Lodge pub in Celbridge.

According to Gda Nerney, three of the four men emerged from the vehicle, which was a black BMW S30 Saloon and was stolen the previously day from a region in Clondalkin, County Dublin (the vehicle has since been recovered).

She further said that the trio smashed a window on the premises and proceeded to enter into the premises.

However, the trio ended up leaving a short time later "empty handed".
