Mick Mullen new Chairman Kildare GAA

Mick Mullen has been elected the new Chairman of Kildare GAA at the county convention held tonight (Wednesday 11 December 2024) at Cedral St Conleth's Park, Newbridge.

Mr Mullen takes over from outgoing chairman Mick Gorman who has served for the past five years.

At a packed convention, the Celbridge man had ten votes to spare (95 to 85) over former county player Bryan Murphy.

As expected, Colm Nolan, who was nominated for the role of vice-chair, withdrew his name leaving Rathangan's Larry Curtin moving into the vice-chair role; Colm and Bryan had put their names forward as a joint team.

Elected: 

Chairperson: Mick Mullen, Celbridge.
Vice-Chairperson: Larry Curtin, Rathangan.
Secretary: Christine Murray, Moorefield (unopposed);
Treasurer: Alan Dunney, Caragh (unopposed);
PRO: Lorraine Woulfe, Naas (unopposed);
Coaching Officer: Eamonn Costello, Kilcock (unopposed);
Irish Officer: Paul O’Delahunty, Milltown (unopposed);
Leinster Council Delegates (x2): Ger Donnelly, Castlemitchell; Dave Cahill, Clane.
Central Council Delegate: Colm Farrell, Johnstownbridge (unopposed).
Leinster Convention: Seamus Meade, Ardclough; Mick Mullen, Celbridge.
Congress: Seamus Meade, Ardclough; Mick Mullen, Celbridge.
